Maya Ghellal



Maya Ghellal has been an associate of the Ghellal & Mekerba Law Firm since 2005. Maya Ghellal’s practice centers on mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, corporate law, investment law, mining and energy law, banking law and finance law, project finance as well as construction and infrastructure law.

Maya Ghellal has been involved in major projects in Algeria that include, but are not limited to, desalination plants, constitution of banks and financial establishments, privatizations, acquisitions by prominent foreign multinationals of Algerian private companies, project finance, real estate and construction projects and has successfully negotiated many of the projects she has been involved in.

She is a member of both the New York and Paris bars, and has developed more than ten years of experience working for major international law firms both in Paris and New York.

Maya has spoken at many international conferences covering Algerian law topics.

She holds an LLM in Comparative Jurisprudence from the New York University School of Law and a Masters degree in company and tax law, Cum Laude, from University Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris I).

Maya is fluent in English, French and Arabic and has good knowledge of Spanish.
